Granada to host European Mobility Week with free transport and cultural activities

Granada and its metropolitan area will celebrate European Mobility Week from September 16 to 22, 2026. Under the theme ‘Mobility for all people,’ the event aims to promote sustainable and efficient transport accessible to all citizens regardless of income, age, or ability.

The program features nearly one hundred activities across the capital and 15 surrounding municipalities, including cycling routes, theater, and cultural initiatives. A key component includes a day of free urban transport.

As part of the celebrations, the ‘Planazos Culturales’ project will offer eight free activities to help residents discover local heritage and natural spaces using regular bus lines. This includes seven cultural routes and a hiking activity in Los Cahorros, Monachil. Additionally, cultural performances such as music, magic, and monologues will be held at major bus stops to revitalize public transit spaces during peak travel times.
