Granada to host major national earthquake drill

Granada will host 'Respuesta26' on November 10, a regional earthquake simulation described by Andalusian Vice President Antonio Sanz as the largest national exercise of its kind involving multiple administrations. The drill will involve approximately 200 participants to test emergency plans, command posts, resource mobilization, and communications between various services.

Participating entities include the Junta de Andalucía, health emergencies, firefighters, local municipalities, local police, Civil Protection volunteers, the Provincial Council of Granada, universities, and professional colleges, alongside various state administration bodies. This marks the fifth major regional emergency drill held in Andalusia since 2021, aimed at improving response protocols for risks such as earthquakes, floods, and chemical emergencies.
