Granada's Castillo de La Calahorra and Guadalajara host summer cultural festivals

The Provincial Council of Granada opened its summer cultural program at the historic Castillo de La Calahorra on Thursday night. Pianist David Gómez performed his show “Noche de piano a la luz de las 200 velas,” kicking off a series of concerts that will include performances by Álvaro Montes on June 18 and José Luis Jaén on June 25. Parallel to the concerts, the council will run a schedule of theatrical visits in July, August and September, offered free of charge with advance reservation and limited to groups of 30.

In the city of Guadalajara, the municipal government announced a weekend cultural agenda centered on oral storytelling. The 35th edition of the Maratón de los Cuentos runs from 12 to 14 June, featuring a fire‑themed narrative marathon lasting over 46 hours, with noted narrators such as Pep Bruno and Paula Carballeira. The programme also includes music concerts, theater, exhibitions and other performances across venues such as the Patio de los Leones, the Teatro Moderno and local plazas, many of which are free or low‑cost.
