Grand Avignon signs security protocol for Orizo transport network

Grand Avignon has signed a security protocol with state authorities to protect the Orizo transport network. The agreement, signed on July 15, 2026, involves the Vaucluse Prefecture, the City of Avignon, the National Police, and the operator Tecelys.

The protocol aims to ensure service continuity and the safety of both passengers and staff following incidents in the Monclar district in June that caused partial network interruptions. Immediate measures include increased police presence on buses, at stops, and along sensitive lines, particularly during evenings, weekends, and near schools.

Additionally, the Tecelys regulation center will now provide real-time bus locations to law enforcement during alerts to enable faster interventions. The agreement also establishes permanent cooperation between municipal, national, and state services to analyze data and coordinate joint operations against violence, incivility, and fare evasion.
