Grand Canyon flash flood leaves 20 missing and Hyundai issues car recall

A flash flood in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, has left approximately 20 people missing. Following heavy rainfall on the afternoon of August 29, rapid water flows surged through canyon valleys, particularly impacting areas around Bright Angel Creek. The sudden deluge carried rocks and debris, damaging structures and trails.

In Singapore, Komoco Motors is recalling 731 Hyundai Avante Hybrid cars due to a potential fire risk caused by an overheating power control unit. The affected vehicles were manufactured between October 22, 2024, and January 7, 2026. Authorities suspect that roughly 80% of the 917 registered hybrids from that period may possess the defect, which can cause abnormal operation and warning signals.
