Grand Canyon University to launch new law and technology colleges

Grand Canyon University (GCU) has announced plans to expand its academic programs by establishing a College of Law and a College of Construction and Industrial Technologies. The university, which expects a record enrollment of 141,000 students for the 2026-27 academic year, aims to integrate a Christian worldview into its new curricula.

GCU President Brian Mueller stated that the College of Law is intended to help students understand the biblical foundations of Western civilization and the legal system. The law program will emphasize constitutional law, free-market principles, and the rule of law. Pending approvals from the Arizona Supreme Court, the Higher Learning Commission, and the Arizona Board for Private Postsecondary Education, the school could welcome its first students in the fall of 2027 or spring of 2028. If it achieves American Bar Association accreditation, it would become the third ABA-accredited law school in Arizona.
