Grand Dakar police detain two suspects in stolen sheep case
Police in the Grand Dakar district arrested two men in connection with a stolen sheep. The first arrest occurred on 27 July 2026, when a suspect was detained for livestock theft. During his interrogation he reported that a second individual had bought the missing sheep for 50,000 FCFA.
Investigators from the Brigade de Recherches reviewed video evidence, identified the animal – valued at about 135,000 FCFA – and located the second suspect, a tailor living in Niarry Tally, who was apprehended on 29 July 2026. He confirmed the purchase price of 50,000 FCFA. Both men were brought before the prosecutor on charges of theft of livestock and receiving stolen property.
