Grand Josun luxury hotel to be built in Gyeongbuk Provincial Government New City

Gyeongsangbuk-do Province has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to construct a five-star luxury hotel in the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government New City, located in Andong. The project involves a partnership between Gyeongsangbuk-do, Josun Hotels & Resorts, Andong City, and the Gyeongbuk Development Corporation.

The planned facility will feature the ‘Grand Josun’ brand, utilizing a traditional Hanok-style design to differentiate itself. The hotel is expected to include 126 guest rooms and is situated near the existing Stanford Hotel Andong. Construction is targeted to begin as early as next year, with a goal of completion by 2030.

This initiative aims to expand high-end accommodation infrastructure in northern Gyeongbuk and establish a foundation for stay-based tourism. The province plans to link the hotel with local cultural assets, such as UNESCO World Heritage sites, traditional culture, and local cuisine, to increase tourist stay durations and regional consumption. Additionally, the facility is intended to support business demands, including corporate events and international MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industries.
