Grand Junction car crash kills five 17-year-old boys

Five 17-year-old boys died after their vehicle veered off a roadway and crashed down a steep hillside in a residential area of Grand Junction, Colorado. The incident occurred in the 2000 block of Lookout Lane.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department and the Mesa County Coroner’s Office, the vehicle was traveling southbound when it left the road. Investigators are currently looking into speed as a potential factor in the crash.

Authorities reported that three of the occupants, including the driver and the front-seat passenger, were wearing seatbelts. The remaining two occupants were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. All five victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
