Grand Orient de France suffers data leak and cyberattack

The Grand Orient de France, France's primary Masonic organization, has filed a criminal complaint following a significant data leak. The cyberattack, claimed by the group LunarisSec, resulted in the online distribution of hundreds of internal documents and the personal details of members.

According to reports, the leak includes 737 internal files, comprising 9,069 pages of PDFs spanning from 2017 to 2026. These documents include budget reports, administrative circulars, and general assembly minutes. Notably, a file from September 2024 linked to a lodge in Angoulême was released, exposing the names, phone numbers, and email addresses of several dozen members.

In a statement released on October 15, 2026, the organization clarified that its central information systems, protected by two-factor authentication, were not compromised. The organization is working with cybersecurity experts and investigators to determine the exact origin of the leak and to mitigate the spread of the exfiltrated information.
