Grand Pardubice receives BREEAM Excellent certification

The Grand commercial building in Pardubice has achieved the ‘Excellent’ rating under the BREEAM In-Use sustainable construction certification. This recognition validates the large-scale modernization of the historic site, which successfully integrated modern functional requirements with the preservation of its architectural heritage.

Designed by Josef Gočár in the 1930s, the protected landmark underwent a renovation by the architectural studio OVA. The project created over 3,500 square meters of retail and service space, including a food hall, a CineStar multiplex, and a coworking area located under a glass canopy.

Achieving the BREEAM Excellent rating was noted as particularly challenging due to the building's age and conservation status, which required technical solutions that respected the existing structure while meeting modern environmental standards. The certification covers 5,928 square meters of common areas.
