Grand Seiko unveils Elegance SBGW325 honoring heritage

Grand Seiko has released the Elegance SBGW325, a limited edition timepiece that pays homage to the SBGW003 model launched in 2001. The original model was significant as the first Grand Seiko to feature a 9S manual-winding mechanical movement.

The new SBGW325 features a 37.3 mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 11.7 mm, utilizing the brand’s signature Zaratsu polishing technique. A standout design element is the deep navy blue dial featuring raised Arabic numerals, a typography style originally designed by Nobuhiro Kosugi.

To emphasize its Japanese heritage, the watch includes a dark blue crocodile leather strap hand-dyed using traditional Hon-Ai indigo techniques. The timepiece is powered by the current 9S64 caliber and is protected by a domed sapphire crystal.
