Nintendo to release Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake near GTA 6 launch

Nintendo has scheduled the release of a remake of ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’ for November 5, 2026, on the Nintendo Switch 2. The launch occurs just two weeks before the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Industry analysts suggest Nintendo is uniquely positioned to handle this timing due to its loyal fanbase and the fact that the two titles target different hardware and audiences. The Zelda remake features overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, symphonic orchestral music, and improved movement controls.

To support the launch, Best Buy has announced it will host midnight launch events at select locations. The retailer will also offer limited quantities of the 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 system and Pro Controller.
