Grand Theft Auto VI reveals new gameplay and wanted system details

New details regarding Grand Theft Auto VI have emerged through an interview with Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson and technical breakdowns of the game’s systems.

Gameplay features include the ability to switch control between protagonists Lucia and Jason at any time. In the setting of Leonida, players can engage in various activities such as driving taxis, where they can interact with passengers or delegate driving to AI. The world features dynamic pedestrian behavior, with NPCs capable of reacting to being followed or eavesdropped upon, and some may even carry concealed weapons.

Robbery mechanics allow for multiple approaches, including using explosives for speed or interrogating employees for higher payouts. Additionally, the game’s Wanted Level system has been expanded to a six-star meter. The stars will change visual appearance to communicate the status of law enforcement, such as whether they are merely investigating a crime or actively pursuing the player. At high levels of pursuit, the player's minimap will be obscured by flashing police lights.
