Grand Yoff police dismantle prostitution ring in Dakar bar

Police in the Grand Yoff district of Dakar dismantled a prostitution ring operating out of a beverage establishment on September 6, 2026. During the raid, officers discovered a two-level operation where customers consumed alcohol on the ground floor while seven rooms on the first floor were used for prostitution.

Investigations revealed that managers charged 5,000 FCFA per one-hour session, paying only 3,000 FCFA to the women involved. The establishment had also violated its administrative operating permit. Authorities seized 233,000 FCFA in illicit earnings from the evening, along with various personal items and large quantities of condoms.

Identity checks indicated that most of the women involved were foreign nationals residing in the country illegally and were not registered with the Ministry of Health’s sanitary and social files. Ten individuals, including the managers and the women, have been taken into custody as investigations continue.
