Grande ABC seeks federal support for industrial and professional qualification

The Development, Industry, Commerce and Services Minister, Marcio Elias Rosa, met with mayors of the Grande ABC region to discuss strengthening the local industrial sector through regional articulation and federal support. The meeting focused on preparing the workforce for technological shifts, including artificial intelligence, digitalization, and new industrial demands.

The Grande ABC Development Agency has requested federal assistance to create a regional professional qualification plan and a university extension program aimed at new technologies. This initiative, supported by the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), seeks to modernize the region's mature industrial park, which includes sectors such as automotive, petrochemical, cosmetics, and bioeconomy.

Minister Rosa proposed a permanent agenda between the Grande ABC Consortium and the Federal Government to align local demands with national development instruments. Industry representatives also highlighted needs for anti-dumping measures and incentives for sustainable business practices.
