Grande Fratello Vip returns with Ilary Blasi hosting

The ninth edition of the reality show Grande Fratello Vip is set to premiere on Canale 5, hosted by Ilary Blasi with commentators Cesara Buonamici and Selvaggia Lucarelli. The season officially begins its main broadcast on September 17, 2026, following an 'Open House' preview on September 15.

The Open House featured the early entry of four contestants: Carmen Di Pietro, Alessandro Varsi, Jonathan Kashanian, and Piera Meloni. Early interactions included a game of 'Truth or Dare' and a brief controversy involving a playful gesture from Di Pietro toward Varsi.

The full cast includes 18 contestants, featuring a mix of social media personalities and established television figures such as Valeria Marini, Marina La Rosa, and Alex Belli. Marina La Rosa, a participant from the original 2000 series, expressed both anxiety and curiosity about returning to the format in a more modern, socially scrutinized era. The season is expected to run for approximately eleven weeks.
