Singer Anitta has been officially announced as the new 'Rainha de Bateria' (Drum Queen) for the samba school Acadêmicos do Grande Rio for the 2027 Carnival. The announcement was made via social media by both the artist and the school.
Anitta succeeds Virginia Fonseca in the role. Reports indicate that Anitta requested that the traditional crown-passing ceremony not take place between her and Fonseca.
