Grandmother of Agostina Vega says second detainee acted suspiciously in Argentine femicide case

Elizabeth Fernández, the grandmother of 14‑year‑old Agostina Vega, told investigators that the second detainee, 47‑year‑old Osvaldo Fassetta, displayed strange behaviour on the night the teenager disappeared. She said Fassetta arrived at Melisa Heredia’s home around 4 a.m. to help search for Agostina, but "sentí que había algo raro, que no se le despegaba a mi hija" and she asked her daughter to remove him from the house.

Fernández also reported receiving odd phone calls while filing the disappearance report, which she believes were from Fassetta, noting he seemed to be "vigilando para ver qué pasaba". She warned that the primary suspect, Claudio Barrelier, could not have acted alone, stating "estoy segura de que hay más personas involucradas". Fassetta, a construction worker and friend of Barrelier, was detained on a court order as a suspected cover‑up participant, and the investigation continues with further forensic and testimonial steps.
