Grandparents Day events held in Guadalajara and Cáceres, Spain

The Guadalajara City Council will host a free Grandparents Day celebration on Friday, 24 July, organized by the Senior Citizens Office. Activities from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. will take place at the Valdeluz Senior Residence and include music, games, a card‑making workshop and a poetry reading. Afterward, participants will gather at the San Roque municipal pool for a communal lunch and recreational time. Registration is required and limited to 22 July.

In the neighbouring region, the Diocese of Coria‑Cáceres will mark the World Grandparents Day on Sunday, 26 July, with a public Mass at the Concatedral de Santa María in Cáceres. Bishop Jesús Pulido Arriero will preside, and the service will follow the theme “I am with you every day.” The bishop’s address will emphasize gratitude for older adults, call for action against loneliness and abandonment, and encourage the faithful to offer both spiritual and practical support to seniors.
