Grandville man arrested in GVSU area peeping tom spree

A 34-year-old man from Grandville has been arrested in connection with a series of “peeping tom” incidents and home invasions near Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Allendale.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspect was apprehended in Georgetown Township following a home invasion on Becker Drive. During that incident, a male entered an apartment while female residents were sleeping; one resident awoke to find the man in her bedroom and alerted authorities. The suspect fled the scene but was later identified using Flock security cameras.

Investigators believe the arrest is linked to approximately 12 previous reports filed between September and October. These incidents involved a male peering into windows, recording residents, or entering off-campus housing units during late-night or early-morning hours. No victims were reported harmed. The suspect is currently held at the Ottawa County Jail pending formal charges and arraignment.
