Granma CDR members honored for community service

In Granma, Cuba, members and leaders of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) were honored during a ceremony held at the Manuel Muñoz Cedeño Provincial Museum in Bayamo. The event marked the 66th anniversary of the organization's founding.

Nine grassroots leaders received the “Medal for the Defense of the Homeland and the Unity of the Neighborhood” for their service and dedication. Additionally, eight members were awarded the “September 28” distinction for their exemplary community work.

Leandro Fonseca Medina, the provincial CDR secretary, emphasized that the awards recognize years of consistent commitment rather than isolated moments. Yudelkis Ortiz Barceló, the First Secretary of the Party in Granma, urged members to revitalize community work block by block and neighborhood by neighborhood to adapt to the country's current circumstances.
