Granma province facilitates expansion of Vietnamese rice production in Cuba

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Lê Quang Long conducted working visits to the Granma and Sancti Spíritus provinces from October 21 to 23. During the trip, the Ambassador inspected agricultural projects managed by Vietnamese enterprises, noting their persistence in maintaining production despite challenges regarding fuel and production materials.

Vietnamese companies are expanding their rice production cooperation models into Granma and Sancti Spíritus, recently delivering rice to local Cuban authorities. In Granma, Ambassador Lê Quang Long met with First Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Yudelkis Ortiz Barceló and Governor Yanetsy Terry Gutiérrez to discuss expanding cultivation areas and potential cooperation agreements between Granma and Vietnamese localities.

Provincial leadership expressed gratitude for the contributions of Vietnamese businesses to local food security. The Granma provincial authorities committed to supporting the expansion of rice production and encouraged Vietnamese investors to explore further opportunities in livestock, forestry, aquaculture, and processing industries.
