Granparken residents face water damage after renovations
Residents of the Granparken housing complex in Odense are facing significant water damage in their basements following a major renovation project. Residents, including Maryan Sharif, who has lived in the building for nearly 30 years, report that flooding has occurred immediately after moving back into their newly renovated apartments.
Sharif estimates that personal belongings worth more than 50,000 DKK have potentially been damaged by the water. While residents have expressed frustration that these issues emerged only after the renovations were completed, Britt Kielstrup Hansen, Director of the housing association Civica, suggests the cause may lie elsewhere.
Hansen attributes the flooding to climate challenges, noting that increased precipitation and rising environmental factors are creating problems beyond what was previously experienced.
