Grant County approves $98,122 in opioid settlement grants

The Grant County Board of Commissioners has unanimously approved $98,122 in funding for nine separate projects derived from opioid settlement grants. Out of 16 applications filed, the selected projects aim to address substance misuse and community wellness.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office will receive funds to expand its D.A.R.E. program by $8,955 and its mental health wellness program by $7,950. Additionally, the Herman-Norcross School District was awarded $17,000 to expand its fitness center, and $5,000 was allocated to continue construction on a new softball field in Wheaton.
