Grant Parish school bus crash sends 19 students to hospital

A school bus carrying 21 students flipped on its side on Highway 71 near Campground Cutoff, north of Montgomery, Louisiana, on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Nineteen students were transported to hospitals following the accident. Two students were airlifted to a trauma center in Shreveport, while the remaining 17 were taken to Rapides Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. No fatalities have been reported, and the condition of the bus driver remains unknown.

The Grant Parish School Board issued a statement confirming that all students were safely transported from the scene and emphasizing that student safety is their top priority. Louisiana State Police are currently leading an investigation into the cause of the crash.
