Grape harvest begins in Cappadocia's Ürgüp region
The grape harvest has commenced in the Cappadocia region, specifically in Ürgüp, where Dimrit black grapes are currently being sold in markets for prices ranging between 80 and 100 TL per kilogram.
Following the table grape harvest, producers will shift focus to collecting grapes for vinegar, wine, and sumac production. Local producers have expressed concerns regarding economic sustainability, calling for minimum purchase prices of at least 25 TL per kilogram for black grapes and 45 TL for Emir grapes to cover rising production costs.
The Ürgüp Chamber of Agriculture is monitoring the process as the harvest period is expected to accelerate in the coming days.
