Graphic book ‘Fidel cien años’ presented in Chile
The editorial house Nunca Más presented the graphic book ‘Fidel cien años’ at the Illustrated Book Fair held at the Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral in Santiago, Chile. The 80-page volume commemorates the centenary of Fidel Castro’s birth by collecting photographs, posters, and illustrations documenting his life from childhood through the Sierra Maestra period and his interactions with popular organizations.
The book features a cover designed by Alejandro “Mono” González, the 2025 National Prize for Plastic Arts winner. Produced in collaboration with the Political Propaganda Archive of Argentina, the work includes posters regarded as significant expressions of 20th-century Latin American graphic art.
During the launch, Chilean intellectual and politician Daniel Jadue described the publication as a visual archive of the relationship between a leader, a people, and a revolution. He noted that the materials reflect how the Cuban Revolution developed its own artistic language and how international solidarity was expressed through popular graphics.
