Graphics card prices rise in European retail market
Graphics card prices in the European retail market are rising rapidly due to a new wave of price increases originating in East Asia. Nvidia informed its board partners of its third price hike of the year in late July, followed by price increases from Asus and Gigabyte in their Chinese distribution channels in early August.
Community-led data analysis suggests that prices across various countries and model classes have increased by approximately 19 percent compared to mid-July. This trend is driven largely by rising costs for memory components; for instance, 16 GiB GDDR6 memory exceeded 180 USD on the spot market in early July, a cost that can surpass the price of some mainstream graphics chips.
