Grasalkovičov Palace security modernization on schedule

Security modernization works at the Grasalkovičov Palace courtyard are proceeding according to schedule. The project aims to enhance security at the presidential residence while improving visitor comfort and working conditions within the palace.

Upon completion, person inspections will be moved from the interior of the palace to a new guardhouse located in the eastern part of the rear courtyard. This new facility will serve as the primary entrance for all visitors, including the media. The Office of the President stated that this relocation will streamline the work of the Office for the Protection of Constitutional Figures and Diplomatic Missions and provide a more dignified appearance for the main staircase area.

Construction progress includes the removal of the original guardhouse and vehicle shelter, the installation of new foundations, and the completion of walls and roofing for the new structure. Work is also underway in the western part of the rear courtyard, where a steel roof structure has been erected. The next phases involve installing green roofs, testing technological equipment, and paving the courtyard. The project is expected to be completed and handed over for operation this autumn.
