Grasciano waste project faces opposition from local association

The association ‘Guide del Borsacchio’ has filed a formal objection with the Abruzzo Region against a proposed waste treatment plant and landfill project by Green Management S. r. l. in the Grasciano area.

The project, located in the Casette di Grasciano area of Notaresco, is estimated to have a capacity of over 1.17 million cubic meters. This proposal follows a recent objection filed by the same association against a separate expansion project by Deco S. p. A., which aims to add a third lot with a capacity of over 500,000 cubic meters to the Grasciano 2 landfill.

Marco Sergio Borgatti, President of Guide del Borsacchio, stated that the opposition is an ‘appeal to reason and common sense,’ arguing that the territory is already heavily impacted by waste management facilities and that the area deserves respect for its history and identity.
