Grashtica residents isolated by two-year road blockage

Residents of Grashtica in Prishtina have been isolated for two years due to a blocked road. The issue arose following sewage network construction works carried out by the Prishtina Municipality.

According to local residents, they previously attempted to repair the road using their own funds and machinery to maintain access. However, the road was further damaged during the sewage works, and the machinery used by the municipality reportedly left without restoring the path to its previous condition.

Residents claim they have been requesting repairs from the municipality since 2013 but have only received promises. The lack of road access is preventing families from returning to their homes and halting plans for new residential construction. Some residents have expressed a willingness to relinquish portions of their private property to facilitate the repair of the affected road segment, which is less than one kilometer long. The Prishtina Municipality has not responded to inquiries regarding this issue.
