Grasshopper Zürich dismisses coach Peter Zeidler

Grasshopper Club Zürich has dismissed head coach Peter Zeidler following a series of heavy defeats. The decision came after the team suffered a 1:5 loss against FC Luzern, which followed a 2:5 defeat against Sion. In a span of just four days, the club conceded ten goals.

Zeidler, who joined the club in May, leaves the team in 10th place in the Super League after nine matches, having earned only eight points. The club cited an “in-depth analysis of the current sporting situation” as the reason for the coaching change. This dismissal marks the eighth coaching change at the club within the last two years.

Team captain Amir Abrashi expressed profound disappointment following the recent performances, stating that the squad “all failed together” and calling for intense self-criticism and video analysis during the upcoming international break.
