Data from the Swiss Federal Statistical Office reveals shifting trends in baby naming conventions both nationally and within the canton of Graubünden. While names like Sofia and Noah lead popularity rankings across Switzerland, Graubünden displays distinct regional preferences.

In Graubünden, the most popular names for girls include Lia, Emma, and Lina. For boys, the top names are Elia, Enea, and Leo. These regional rankings differ from the broader national trends seen throughout the rest of the country.

Historical analysis shows a significant increase in name diversity over the last century. In the 1930s, names such as Hans and Ruth were highly dominant, with Hans accounting for approximately 5 percent of male births. In contrast, modern top names like Noah hold a much smaller relative share of the population, currently around 0.29 percent, reflecting a much broader variety of names in use today.
