Canyon launches third-generation Grail gravel bike

Canyon has launched the third generation of its Grail gravel bike, focusing on increased tire clearance and aerodynamic efficiency. The new design allows for tires up to 57 mm wide, providing significantly more room than the previous 42 mm limit to accommodate varied terrain and improve shock absorption through higher tire volume.

Key technical updates include a shift to an exclusively 1x drivetrain platform and a more aggressive geometry. The frame features a longer wheelbase, a 71.5-degree head angle, and a reduced stack height of 15 mm compared to the previous generation. Aerodynamic testing at speeds of 35 km/h indicates improved drag reduction, aligning the bike with high-speed gravel racing trends.

Models include various configurations such as the CFR Di2 and CF SLX, with top-tier versions expected to weigh under eight kilograms when equipped with SRAM Red XPLR components. The bike is designed to balance competitive racing performance with versatility for endurance riding and daily use.
