Gravina in Puglia building archives face accessibility issues during digitalization
A digitalization project in Gravina in Puglia is facing criticism after causing delays in accessing historical building records. The project, funded with approximately 400,000 euros from regional resources, involves transferring paper files dating from 1958 to the late 1980s to an external company for scanning.
City Councilor Mario Conca has formally requested urgent intervention from Mayor Fedele Lagreca, noting that professionals and citizens are currently forced to wait several days to consult essential documents. Conca argued that while digitalization is necessary, the current organization has made services temporarily inaccessible. The delays impact the ability of owners and professionals to verify urban planning regularity, manage property sales, secure mortgages, and resolve construction disputes.
