Gray hair management trends: natural masking and styling
As premature graying becomes a growing aesthetic concern, various methods are being used to manage white hair, ranging from temporary home remedies to strategic hair styling.
Some individuals use natural infusions, such as coffee or black tea, as a temporary coloring technique. This method involves applying a concentrated decoction to clean, dry hair to deposit dark pigments on the hair cuticle. While popular on social media, dermatological experts, including the Brazilian Society of Dermatology, warn that these are merely superficial solutions. They do not alter internal hair structure or restore natural melanin production, and the effect fades with washing.
Alternatively, there is a growing trend of embracing gray hair through specific haircuts designed to enhance silver and gray tones. Styles such as the long bob with light ends or the classic bob are noted for their ability to manage the different textures and volumes often associated with aging hair, helping to distribute weight and highlight natural dimension.
