Grayscale to Issue Quarterly Cash Payouts from Ethereum and Solana Staking ETFs
Grayscale Investments filed Form 8‑K documents on July 17 to amend the trust agreements for its Ethereum Staking ETF (ETHE) and Solana Staking ETF (GSOL). The revisions will let the trusts convert accrued ETH and SOL staking rewards into U.S. dollars and distribute the net proceeds to shareholders at least once each quarter, with the first payouts expected around August 7 2026. Under the new structure, the funds will sell the staked tokens, deduct operating costs and fees, and pay the remaining cash to investors, eliminating the need for direct crypto custody. Grayscale earlier launched staking for these products in October 2025 and made its first ETHE distribution on Jan 5, paying about $0.08 per share and totaling roughly $9.39 million to date. The change aims to attract traditional investors seeking liquid, cash‑based returns from on‑chain yields.
