Grayson Waller becomes WWE NXT Champion

Grayson Waller has become the new WWE NXT Champion following a Fatal Four-Way match at Heatwave. Waller secured the title by pinning Tony D’Angelo after Cruz Montana hit D’Angelo with a ‘Spin the Block’ maneuver.

In recent comments, Waller expressed satisfaction with his role as the championship holder, stating he enjoys the negative reactions from fans and competitors. He noted that his goal is to restore the prestige of the NXT Championship, remarking that he loves ‘pissing people off’ and seeing the anger in his challengers' eyes.

Despite losing the title, reports indicate that Tony D’Angelo is not expected to move to the WWE main roster (RAW or SmackDown) in the immediate future. Sources suggest that Waller’s ascent to becoming the ‘current face of the show’ is not an indictment of D’Angelo, who is expected to remain on the NXT brand. D’Angelo is currently scheduled to compete in a six-man tag team match on the September 8 episode of NXT.
