Graz internist under investigation for sexual abuse and covert filming
A gastroenterologist in Graz, Austria, is being investigated for allegedly sexually abusing female patients in his private practice and secretly recording them with hidden cameras. Prosecutors say the doctor used a gynecological chair, sometimes sedated patients, and filmed them without consent. Seized digital devices contain photos and videos dating back to 2012. Eight victims have been identified, and the prosecutor announced that at least one victim is a minor. The case came to light after a patient noticed a mobile phone pointing at the examination area. The suspect, over 60, also runs a practice in Switzerland and has been barred from practicing medicine in Austria while the investigation continues. He denies the accusations, claiming the recordings were medically justified and made with patient consent. Police are analysing the material and urging additional victims to come forward.
