Graz: Three-year-old survives fall from fifth floor
A three-year-old girl survived a fall from the fifth floor of an apartment building in Graz, Austria, on Tuesday evening with only minor injuries.
The incident occurred in the Gries district at an apartment complex on Eggenberger Gürtel. According to initial police investigations, the child was being held by her 13-year-old sister while they waited for their mother in a stairwell. The older sister had lifted the toddler so she could look over the railing to see their mother, who was waiting for the elevator on the ground floor. The child leaned too far forward and slipped from her sister's grasp, falling into a stone bed below.
Emergency responders from the Red Cross provided immediate medical care at the scene, noting that the child was conscious following the fall. She was subsequently transported to the pediatric surgery department at the Landeskrankenhaus Graz, where medical examinations confirmed she sustained no serious injuries.
