Clan Graziano members detained in Italian anti-mafia operation

Italian authorities have launched major operations targeting organized crime and violent offenses. In the Vallo di Lauro region, the Carabinieri and the Direzione Distrettuale Antimafia have disrupted an attempt to reorganize the Graziano clan. Four individuals, including suspected leader Fiore Graziano, have been detained on charges of mafia association and aggravated extortion. Investigators allege the group sought to extort a 5% commission from public works contracts in the area.

In a separate incident in Salerno, a 57-year-old man from Ariano Irpino has been detained on suspicion of attempted murder. The arrest follows the stabbing of a 23-year-old woman in the city's historic center on September 23. The suspect was identified after the victim recognized him from a photograph circulated by law enforcement. The man has maintained his innocence through legal counsel.
