Great American Beer Festival announces new outdoor format for 2026

The Great American Beer Festival (GABF) is returning on October 10-11, 2026, with a revised format. The Brewers Association, the trade group organizing the event, is shifting toward a smaller, tighter outdoor event at the Levitt Pavilion. According to Bart Watson, President and CEO of the Brewers Association, the goal is to return to the festival’s roots by focusing on the variety and quality of beer and the people who produce it.

The move from the traditional convention center to an outdoor venue has faced scrutiny from the craft beer community. Concerns raised by brewery owners and professionals include potential transportation challenges, the outdoor setting in October, and the uneven terrain of the new location. Despite these concerns, organizers aim to transform the festival into a “Colorado lifestyle event.”

In addition to the main festival, a variety of satellite events are scheduled throughout Denver. These include community celebrations such as the Gratitude 12 customer appreciation party at Our Mutual Friend Brewery and tasting events like RAD x Beers Made by Walking at RiNo ArtPark, which features several local Denver breweries.
