Great Britain confirmed as 2027 Tour de France Grand Depart host
The Grand Depart trophy was presented on the final podium of the 2026 Tour de France in Paris, officially confirming Great Britain as the host of both the men’s and women’s start of the 2027 Tour de France. Lizzie Deignan MBE and Sir Mark Cavendish received the trophy from Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni, with Grand Depart GB managing director Paul Bush announcing that Britain will be the first country outside France to host both races.
In parallel, the 2026 Lloyds Tour of Britain will feature family cycling festivals in Blackpool on 20 August and Hull on 4 September. The free‑to‑attend events, part of the professional race, will offer activities for all ages and are promoted by British Cycling Ventures director Jonathan Day and local officials such as Blackpool councillor Jo Farrell.
