Great Britain wins two gold medals at UCI Track World Championships

Great Britain secured two gold medals during the second day of the UCI Track World Championships in Shanghai, China. Matthew Bostock won the men’s scratch race after a solo break in the 30km event, lapping members of the peloton to claim victory ahead of Tom Sexton of New Zealand and Lindsay De Vylder of Belgium.

Shortly after Bostock’s victory, the British women’s team pursuit squad won gold in their final against Italy. The quartet, consisting of Anna Morris, Josie Knight, Millie Couzens, and 19-year-old Erin Boothman, finished with a time of 4:04.610, winning by over five seconds. This victory marks the ninth time Great Britain has won the women’s team pursuit since the event was introduced in 2008.

Earlier in the competition, Bostock also contributed to a bronze medal for the British men’s team pursuit alongside Noah Hobbs, Henry Hobbs, Ethan Vernon, and Oliver Wood.
