The Great British Bake Off sees first elimination and emotional tributes

During Biscuit Week on The Great British Bake Off, contestant Danni became the first baker to be eliminated from the competition after failing to impress judges with American-style cookies and a biscuit mosaic.

In a notable moment, contestant Connie delivered an emotional tribute using a biscuit mosaic of the Jamaican flag to honor those affected by a major hurricane in the country. The gesture moved host Alison Hammond to tears and earned praise from judge Nigella Lawson.

Viewers and critics have also focused on the dynamics between judges Nigella Lawson and Paul Hollywood. While some observers noted moments of tension and disagreement regarding baking techniques and terminology, others interpreted their interactions as having a playful or flirtatious undertone. Meanwhile, the episode sparked online discussion regarding a comment from a contestant suggesting that biscuits are an ‘old person thing’.
