Great British Drinks Company appoints James Kemp as Production Director

James Kemp has been appointed as the new Production Director for the Great British Drinks Company, the parent organization of Black Sheep Brewery and Purity Brewing Co. Kemp brings extensive industry experience, including over six years in senior roles at BrewDog and previous positions at Thornbridge, Buxton, Yeastie Boys, and Hawkshead.

In his new capacity, Kemp will oversee production across the company’s brewery estate, with a specific emphasis on Black Sheep Brewery. His primary objectives are to enhance operational efficiency and capability to support high-volume opportunities in both on-trade and off-trade sectors through 2027.

Kemp joins an expanding senior leadership team that recently includes Lee Payne as Head of On-Trade, Rob Cooper as Head of Off-Trade, and Paul Brazier as Head of Marketing. Managing Director Dom Metcalfe noted that Kemp’s expertise in large-scale, efficient brewing is essential for the company as it seeks to restore revenue and revitalize growth.
