Great New York State Fair introduces new food judging competition

The Great New York State Fair is returning for its annual run, running from August 26 through Labor Day. The event features a variety of attractions, including live music, rides, and diverse food offerings.

For the 2026 season, the fair is introducing the ‘Best of Fair’ competition. This initiative allows members of the public to serve as official judges alongside local celebrities. Judging sessions will take place in the Empire Room at the Creative Arts Center, covering categories such as savory food, sweet food, fried food, mocktails, and alcoholic cocktails.

Attendees can also access various amenities, including national touring musical acts included with gate admission and traditional food items like baked potatoes and milk from the Dairy Products Building.
