Great Western Air Ambulance Charity implements medical equipment innovation

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) is implementing practical innovations to improve emergency medical response. A recent focus has been the redesign of equipment bags used by clinical teams in critical care cars and helicopters.

Working with manufacturer PAX, the clinical team developed bespoke kit bags designed to optimize how equipment is accessed during incidents. Advanced Practitioner in Critical Care Vicki Brown noted that the new bags are speeding up processes, particularly when setting up kit for pre-hospital emergency anaesthesia (PHEA), thereby improving care for patients in urgent need.
