Great Western Railway seeks name for new dragon plushie

Great Western Railway (GWR) has launched a public contest to name a new limited-edition dragon plushie. The winged soft toy is intended to accompany families on rail travels throughout South Wales and the South West.

The initiative is part of the GWR ‘Famous Five’ campaign, titled ‘Five and the Dragon Quest’. The dragon has already appeared in promotional materials alongside figures such as children’s author Michael Rosen and podcast hosts Isy Suttie and Dan Skinner.

Participants who suggest the winning name will receive tickets for a family train adventure and their own dragon plushie. This campaign follows the earlier unveiling of a Red Dragon statue at Cardiff Central station and the release of ‘The Line to Legend Land’, a collection of myths and legends marking the 100th anniversary of the Legend Land series.
